Well it’s been going on for so long That its automatic thinking And I know it’s wrong Anything that could make a difference Is visible only in distance So long to ten long years And all the source of fear I’m trying to leave it behind from here And I know it’s trite Doesn’t feel right But say it loud Say it clear Say it proud And come nearer to me When you burst into tears Know that we are here We’re here to make it through this thing Though you may not know why Know that you’re alive You’re here to experience life Existence is enough for me I miss you like you’d never believe Cause you’re stronger than me And where I end up is where you’ll be Existence is enough for me

I stand by myself But I can’t stand by my words Rhetoricise It’s like finding figures in clouds Faces in a crowd A forest without trees Is more paper for tertiary poetry When you hear the sound and you know it’s me Without evidence to the contrary It seems so arbitrary Because words are the reverse Of the air The air that we breathe More fodder for late modernity Complacent as a face for obscurity In all pursuit of agency An exhausted vocabulary Tell me about your life Tell your story in your own words In your own words That’s what living’s like Bring light to light and life to life Bring light to life “What is and what is meant to be” Said the prince of profundity “Are essentially the same thing” That’s what living’s like Bring light to light and life to life Bring light to life

Mea Culpa 02:56
Premeditation An orchestration We've strategically positioned A great barrier of apathy Cause we’re letting the ghosts in now Mediating what once stood for a semblance of meaning And for dreaming Existing as a non-entity What’s that that lurks over there in the shadows? Such a strange glow Gaze out with the eyes of a child Blink twice when you feel you’ve been desensitised You wouldn’t know any different You and me No longer we Is this where you thought you’d be? You and I We divide When we choose not to confide So forget it Just forget it I suppose that it’s my fault That I was predisposed to be so vulnerable Mea Culpa No confrontation Assure no risks taken Your display of contrition Hides the absence of empathy

No Dialectic 04:00
Rare Who found that essence rare? I’m not expecting you to extol my virtues After the way I hurt you And all we’ve been through Dare I wouldn’t even dare Make a promise never to bemuse you I’m only here to amuse you What more can I do? In short this dialogue’s no dialectic In all repose a view so diametric I have no idea how you comprehend Do I make myself clear? Caught between anxiety and passion It’s only ever what you imagine Thought between piety and fashion Tell me is it what you imagined?

Own Truth 03:55
Friends reveal their worth with time But a fool always gives himself away The sort who speaks just to move his tongue It’s not the intent i find uncouth It’s the knowledge of the obverse truth That comes to light when I come undone If it’s all the same to you Then it’s all the same to me Reminiscing The fallibility of memory Could everyone take a deep breath Count to ten then let it go The only thing that poses threat Confusing truth with what you know I try to find meaning in everything But not too much ‘Cause change is the only constant And it can all reverse in an instant Dear friend I’ll often think of you Don’t think that I’ve forgotten you I want you I want you to be happy I would love for you to find Some peace of mind As we emerge in the twilight of our youth And the world is begging for some proof Own your own truth Dear friend I’ll often think of you Don’t ever think I’ve forgotten you Reminiscing The fallibility of memory Could everyone take a deep breath Count to ten then let it go The only thing that poses threat Confusing truth with what you know

You/You 04:09
It’s so rare that you can’t replace it So present that you can’t erase It’s so dark that you cannot see it So unlikely that you’ll ever be it Envision what could be if you just let it In visions you'll only live to regret it If it only happens in your head Better the you you know than the you you don’t Better the words you speak than the words you’re told Better to reason that it’s what you wanted all along Better the you you know than the you you don’t I was always taught to count my blessings As the risk of failing or learning a lesson Wouldn’t ever soothe a sensitive soul So I just kept pretending That its so high that I cannot reach it So hard that I cannot teach it It’s so fragile that I cannot touch it So confronting that I cannot watch it In visions I only live to regret it Cause it only happens in my head Better the you you know than the you you don’t Better the words you speak than the words you’re told Better to reason that it’s what you wanted all along Better the you you know than the you you don’t It’s so rare that I can’t replace it So present that I can’t erase It’s so dark that I cannot see it So unlikely that I’ll ever be it It’s so high that I cannot reach it It’s so hard that I cannot teach it It’s so fragile that I cannot touch it So confronting that I cannot watch it

Half a Man 03:39
Categorise this I've nothing left to live without Alone in conversation Talking about a new sensation Preferring a pantomime I’ll just keep talking to myself Ambivalent in comfort Categorise yourself Make home all safe and soft I’m trading serenades so you can Categorise me I own this irony Tell me what I don’t want to hear I’m dying to oppose you High tide for shape shifting Gotta keep the castles in the sand No time for shaking hands Laughing at half a man If the shame won’t break his will what can? What can ever become of him? So I concede I admit defeat Okay you won Damage is done I guess it’s to be expected When you confuse the means with the ends You’re forever making amends High tide for shape shifting Gotta keep the castles in the sand No time for shaking hands Laughing at half a man If the shame won’t break his will what can? What can ever become of him? (Okay you won damage is done) Categorise me I own this irony

“'Do you remember when?' Is the lowest form of conversation" Said an actor on the television It springs to mind in a certain kind of situation The present always bearing some relation So rest in peace resign in silence To appease shared shyness Without consensus we’re defenceless to the ravages of mind Bliss I am not ignorant of this Gotta make time to chase what we desire ‘cause that’s what it’s all about Yes There is no need for such tristesse No one’s to blame or feel ashamed it’s just a mutual turnabout Then it’s over Release Detach yourself from your beliefs Try to embrace a change when the status quo is just not working out Nostalgia creeps Into the company we keep Try to fight the urge to criticise every fleeting thought that you’ll ever have Then it’s over
