Don't write it down or type it Your mouth is made for more than breathing and eating Repeating the words in your head until they lose all meaning Are they sinking in? If I sing it out will you sing along? And bring this morbid perception into question? If I string it out will I only be stringing you along? This hessian transgression When you were young did you throw a coin in the fountain? 'Cause now all you can do is lament what you missed out on And if its okay I'll just do what I do And say what I say And you will too in your own way If I sing it out will you sing along? And bring this morbid perception into question? If I string it out will I only be stringing you along? This hessian transgression

Charged up on megahertz Chock full of culture Horses for discourses A caricature I see pictures of people and feel like I know them If I like them then I can show them just how alike we really are Staring at pictures of cats on a screen And the memes upon memes upon memes upon memes I can't bare their conversation Drowned out in the sound of mental masturbation I'm gonna leave a note that reads I guess that I just wasn't made for these times And choke on the laughter A laughing matter Because nothing matters

about

From the desk of the Eunoia Collective executive,

In undertaking this special edition re-issue of Seahorse Divorce's timeless two-track 7", the unavoidable act of retrospection involved merely reaffirms a fact long since canonised within innumerable official & unofficial biographies: this 2014 watershed release was both catalytic and cataclysmic in shaping the band that shaped the world. Those familiar with the band's history will know that it was with this diminutive release that they unleashed a flood of biblical proportions unpin humankind. Embarking on an aggressive and multifaceted campaign of innovative mercantilism and digital exploration, the band pioneered relentlessly in experimental new-media market potentials. This era was the inception for the wildly popular and groundbreaking SD Online, a fully interactive virtual reality experience.

Fans worldwide could play out their over-hyped often warped sensationalist fantasies, living and acting as their choice of Seahorse Divorce band member turned mega-celebrity. The effect, as we now know, was of unmitigated, ubiquitous, almost hyperbolic commercial success. Older mythologies of atavistic rock 'n' roll stardom paled in comparison when such models had long been considered culturally extinct. Of course, such models foretold the very same doom that lurks in the shadows of blind stardom, and this was to be a pyrrhic victory for the five members. Their resulting fortunes and personal popularity were made vulnerable and slowly languished as fans turned their focus solely toward their amorphous virtual constructs, avatars that offered no resistance to the rabid manipulations and merciless expectations of the capriciously autonomous crowd participation experience.

The band, now unable to divert their fateful trajectories, began to argue and drift apart. They turned to drink, gambling, clandestine religious groups and began losing vast tracts of their fortunes in legal disputes and other failed entrepreneurial enterprises (the Hessian Transgression Megastore is but one of many such examples). Jump to the present day and their albums, once prized artefacts of a bygone age of creativity and commercial gumption, spill from discount store bargain bins into gutters. Shrink wrapped digipacks flow out to sea and form toxic floating islands of waste.

Those of the public who didn't drink the cool-aid are now disgusted at the mention of the name Seahorse Divorce, and most music critics now believe any suggestions of original musical integrity present in the early years of the band to be fallacious at best. The beauty is now forgotten. Only the perversely voracious appetites of a billion plus subscribers, unfurled in a hedonistic and increasingly isolated online dystopia remain as a testament to what started as five friends embarking on a journey of self discovery.

In re-releasing these two songs we hope that others will learn from the telling, and in many ways tragic story of Seahorse Divorce.
